The McAuliffe-Shepard Discovery Center is a science museum dedicated to NH space pioneers Christa McAuliffe and Admiral Alan Shepard. It specializes in astronomy, aviation, Earth and space science and has indoor and outdoor interactive science and engineering exhibits, a planetarium, observatory, cafe, science store and free parking. Open daily 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. plus 1st Friday night each month, 6:30-9:30 pm. during summer and school vacations (Feb vacation, spring vacation, Christmas vacation); open Friday through Sunday during non-vacation weeks in the fall, winter and spring, plus 1st Fridays 6:30-9:30 pm. Closed New Years Day, Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving & Christmas.
