John R. Young, NHFCU President/CEO Celebrated 25 Years on August 12

John R. Young began his career with New Hampshire Federal Credit Union (NHFCU) on August 15, 1994. At that time, NHFCU's assets were $61 million.  In his 25 years with the Credit Union, John has taken us to new heights - as our assets now exceed $277 million - growth of more than $8.6 million per year on average. But, rather than focus on dollars and asset growth, John's leadership has focused on relationship growth and the careful stewardship of NHFCU's members' interests, keeping in mind the communities NHFCU serves.

25 years of making a positive difference for

New Hampshire Federal Credit Union

  • Instituted debit cards, website, email, and online banking during the 1990s.
  • Developed and expanded the CU 4 Reality Financial Education Program which was (and still is) deployed and implemented with credit unions throughout NH, the US, and even in Europe.
  • Expanded the office at 70 Airport Road to provide more privacy for members.
  • Transitioned our "ATM location" to an actual office on N Main Street, Concord, where we have since established our "original" Center for Finance & Education.
  • Transitioned our Durham location to a new, larger facility in Lee, delivering convenience for more of our membership.
  • Reinvigorated the NHFCU mission: "We exist to make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve through financial education and services."
  • In the last two years alone, NHFCU members have saved more than $2.5 million dollars through the restructuring and reduction of debt by working with NHFCU.

Congratulations, John.
