Warmer days are ahead and Presidential Oaks is excited to announce an expanded schedule for its Summer Concerts on the Green series. The popular music series returns to its weekly schedule and with an expanded number of shows. Performances will be held every Tuesday from June 28 - August 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. Dinner is available and will be served at 5 p.m. Cost is $8 per person. Reservations are required.
Guests can bring their own chairs or blankets and relax on the plush green lawn with the historic Odd Fellows Home as the backdrop while enjoying some great music and complimentary popcorn and water.
Kicking off the Summer Concerts on the Green on June 28 is the
Nevers 2nd Regiment Band under the direction of Kevin M. Swift. With
its roots as a military band and more than 40 musicians in this full-size band,
Nevers Band will perform not one but TWO shows at Presidential Oaks this
season. The band will return for a second show on August 2.
The series continues on July 5 with the Hopkinton Town Band. This local favorite is a familiar performer at Presidential Oaks but is new to the Summer Concerts on the Green lineup. Patriotic sounds with a mix of show tunes and more will be on tap for Hopkinton Town Band's show.
The smooth sounds of East Bay Jazz will entertain audience members
on July 12. Take a trip back to the 1930s and 1940s with a variety of jazz favorites,
Big Band tunes, waltzes and more with East Bay Jazz.
Also returning this season is Bedford Big Band, performing on July
19. With more than 20 pieces, the vocals and instrumentals of Bedford Big Band showcase
many musical styles including Latin rhythms, jazz and Big Band standards.
Swings the thing as the Freese Brothers take to the stage on July
26, bringing a mix of Big Band swing classics for the audience to enjoy.
Following the Freese Brothers will be the second performance by
the Nevers 2nd Regiment Band on August 2.
All of the fun wraps on August 9 as the Fountain Square Ramblers get the crowd up out of their seats for some toe tappin' and hand clappin' favorites from the heart of Dixieland. Audience members will think they are in New Orleans!
