Work-life balance and leadership were two of the topics covered by Kelli D’Amore, a Principal at Nathan Wechsler & Co, P.A. and the accounting firm’s Director of Nonprofit Practice, at the New Hampshire Society of Certified Public Accountants’ (NHSCPA) First Annual Women’s Leadership Conference on Tuesday, September 22 in Manchester, NH. D’Amore was part of a panel of women business leaders who addressed a group of female professional accountants and has a unique perspective on the topic, given her specialization in the construction and manufacturing industries – two areas traditionally dominated by men.
“Understanding the many factors that impact leadership styles is incredibly important for professionals in any industry,” said D’Amore, who has more than 15 years’ experience at the Concord financial and business advising firm. “The panel discussion at the Women’s Leadership Conference was made up of women leaders from the industry to specifically discuss their journeys, struggles, and lessons learned.”
D’Amore has a solid understanding of the needs of the nonprofit industry, and continues to be a strong voice for the nonprofit sector in New Hampshire. She has helped several nonprofits accomplish mergers that have increased the efficiency of mission delivery. In addition to her nonprofit role, Kelli spends much of her time in the construction industry with a focus on general contractors. Through this work she has developed a strong understanding of contract reporting and key performance indicators for the industry. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Southern New Hampshire University and is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the NHSCPA. She has also presented on the topics of finance and risk management and nonprofit leadership, and is a 2013 graduate of Convergence Coaching’s Transformational Leadership Program.
The recent conference centered on the theme that influence is a key ingredient to successful leadership—particularly when you have limited control of circumstances. Attendees learned the tools and techniques to help them influence and inspire transformation in their own teams and outside their span of control. Along with D’Amore, Kelsea Hale, Krista Dupre, Ashley Major, and Sarah Wright of Nathan Wechsler attended the conference.
