The Beech Hill School is pleased to announce that we will be hosting two secondary school information sessions for parents in the month of October. While all members of the Beech Hill School community are invited to attend, the evenings are designed primarily for those of you with students in grade 8. In addition, these events are open to the public, so I encourage you to invite anyone that you know that may have an interest in learning more about the independent secondary school admission process.
On Thursday, October 10th at 5:30pm, The Beech Hill School will welcome Mr. James Funnell, Associate Director of Admission at Groton School to campus. Mr. Funnell will speak for about a half hour about finding the right secondary school for your child, followed by a half hour for questions. Prior to his work at Groton, Mr. Funnell served as the Director of Secondary School Placement at Cardigan Mountain School, among other titles and responsibilities. In his time at Cardigan, Mr. Funnell successfully placed hundreds of students at secondary schools throughout New England and the country.
On Thursday, October 17th at 5:30pm The Beech Hill School will welcome Ms. Kate Saunders, Director of Admission at the Tilton School to campus. Ms. Saunders will speak for 30 minutes about the application process and visiting schools, followed by a half hour for questions. Ms. Saunders has served as Director of Admission for roughly a decade at Tilton School and at Virginia Episcopal School. Ms. Saunders is recognized for her leadership in the world of secondary school admission and has presented nationally on independent school admission.
