Residential Assistant - Awake Overnight
Our residential team at Spaulding Youth Center is seeking individuals who want to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

We have residential assistant – awake overnight openings available. This role supports behaviorally-challenged students, ages 5-21 years old, with neurological impairments including autism, intellectual disabilities, emotional disorders and those who have experienced significant trauma, abuse or neglect.

Established in 1871, Spaulding Youth Center is a leading provider of academic, residential, therapeutic and foster care programs and services for children and youth with neurological, emotional, behavioral, learning and developmental challenges. Applicants must be compassionate, reliable and have a high level of personal integrity and be able to consistently follow through with treatment strategies to help our students achieve their highest level of success. CPR/First Aid, Professional Crisis Management and other trauma-focused certifications are required, but can be obtained through Spaulding training programs. Prior experience working with developmentally and/or emotionally challenged individuals is preferred, but we are willing to train individuals looking for a career that will change lives. Applicants are required to be 21 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED.

Primary responsibility of the residential assistant – awake overnight is to provide direct care and supervision to students during non-school hours. The role encompasses supervision of students during overnight hours with environmental checks every 30 minutes and room checks every 60 minutes. Responsible for observation, documentation and for maintaining a clean and orderly environment.
