Celibacy, a Love Story: Memoir of a Catholic Priest's ..

Mimi Bull presents Celibacy, A Love Story: Memoir of A Catholic Priest's Daughter, a tender, but honest memoir of a life lived in the shadow of a huge
secret. Mimi Bull was born in the 1930s believing she had been adopted
by two women, a mother and daughter. It wasn't until she had her own
children that she learned her adoptive parents were actually blood
relatives––her grandmother and mother, and it wasn't for over another
decade that she would finally discover her father was the Catholic
priest who she had known all her life as a close family friend.

Poets Kimberly Burwick and Elizabeth Bradfield

Poet Kimberly Burwick, alongside poet-naturalist Elizabeth Bradfield, join together to present Kimberly's 5th book of poems, Brightword, a stunning lyric meditation forged under the threat of child-loss. Also tonight we celebrate Bradfield's fourth collection, Antarctica, which documents and queries her work as a guide on ships in Antarctica, offering an incisive insider's vision that challenges traditional tropes of The Last Continent. The Making of a Miracle, with hockey captain Mike Eruzio

Mike Eruzione, the captain of the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey team and scorer of the gold-medal winning goal against Russia, visits Gibson's Bookstore to present his first book, The Making of a Miracle, and tell how a team of college kids and unsigned amateurs beat the elite Soviet hockey team when no one gave them a chance. The Russians had won the previous four gold medals but a combination of pluck, skill, and devil-may-care attitude shocked the world, and delivered the greatest David and Goliath victory in sports history.

Eruzione has lived a hockey life full of unexpected twists and surprising turns. Al Michaels' famous call in 1980—"do you believe in miracles? YES!"—could have been about Mike himself. Filled with vivid portraits—from his hard-working, irrepressible father to the irascible Herb Brooks to the Russian hall of famers Tretiak, Kharlamov, Makarov, and Fetisov—this lively, fascinating look back is destined to become a sports classic and is a must for hockey fans, especially those who witnessed that miraculous day.
