The annual Summer Concert on the Green Series kicks off tonight with the Nevers' 2nd Regiment Band. Complimentary popcorn and water for all guests. Feel free to bring your own lawn chair or a blanket or enjoy one of our comfy folding chair. We will be outside on the front lawn of Presidential Oaks. In case of bad weather, the concert will be moved inside to the auditorium.

Four Masterpieces by Claude Monet, at the Currier

MANCHESTER, NH – Claude Monet’s beautiful landscape made in 1869, The Bridge at Bougival, is one of New Hampshire’s most beloved paintings. It has recently been shown at major exhibitions in Houston, Fort Worth, and San Francisco. To celebrate its return home, the Currier Museum has borrowed three other pivotal paintings by Monet each illustrating a different period in the artist’s career. This focused exhibition will allow visitors to understand the creativity of Monet and to see him in the context of his American followers. Monet: Pathways to Impressionism opens on July 1 and runs until November 13, 2017.

The exhibition includes loans from the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth, Texas, and the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston.
La Pointe de la Hève at Low Tide is the painting that launched Monet’s career in 1865. Gray and somber, it already reveals the energetic brushwork and attention to light of Impressionism. The Currier’s own The Bridge at Bougival is one of Monet’s earliest paintings to precede the development of Impressionism. Forms are broken by patterns of sunlight and shade. New Hampshire Historical Society Guided Gallery Tours

Join us every Saturday at 2 and 3 p.m. all summer long for guided tours of the New Hampshire Historical Society's historic Park Street building and exhibitions. From a 500-year-old dugout canoe to a 1972 Ski-doo, the exhibitions on display at the New Hampshire Historical Society show you things you just can't see anywhere else. Guided gallery tours are 45 minutes long and are appropriate for visitors of all ages.

Lobsterfest Aboard the M/S Mount Washington

Enjoy a sunset cruise and the ultimate New England dinner during the M/S Mount Washington’s popular Lobsterfest events.

Besides the sunset cruise around the lake and the fresh Maine lobster the cruise features live music and dancing. Summer Lobsterfest cruises will be offered on Saturday, July 1, Friday, July 28 and Friday, August 18. There will also be autumn Lobsterfest cruises on Saturday, September 5 (from Weirs Beach, 6-9 p.m.) and Saturday, October 3 (from Weirs Beach, 5-8 p.m.). Tickets are $57 and include dinner and entertainment and barbecued chicken or a second entree option.

The summer Lobsterfest cruises in July and August run for three hours and depart from Weirs Beach at 7 p.m. with a stop in Meredith to pick-up passengers at 7:30 p.m. Live entertainment will be provided on the Main Deck and in the Flagship Lounge.

Independence Day is a blast in Waterville Valley

The Memorial Day Weekend at Waterville Valley is the start of summer. It is two days of fun with activities for all ages from fishing to face painting and live music.

The fun begins on Saturday with the annual Casting for Kirby Youth Fishing Derby. The competition is divided, kids ages 7 and under and children from 8 to 15. The goal is try to catch Corcoran Pond’s elusive Kirby and win a prize.

But that’s not the only thing happening on that day. Family friendly entertainment is also provided, including a presentation by NH Balloon Man, face painting, boat rentals, a bounce house and a visit with Bruce the Moose.

On Sunday adults can sample a variety of chowders from local restaurants at the 28th Annual Chowderfest & Brews. Guests can submit ballots for their favorites for the “Golden Clam Award” for the best chowder. During the afternoon seasonal ales from New Hampshire are available in the brew tent for guests 21 and older and while you enjoy the chowder and brews you can also listen to live music on the Gazebo Stage.

Annual Fireworks Party Cruise for the 4th of July

Celebrate Independence Day and enjoy  fireworks displays over the lake during the M/S Mount Washington July 4th Fireworks Party Cruise. Every year, Lake Winnipesaukee community members create their own fireworks displays and M/S Mount Washington guests have the best vantage point to enjoy the show.

The Fireworks Party Cruise on Tuesday, July 4th, features a dinner buffet, live entertainment provided by well-known local favorite band, Annie and the Orphans, and a scenic three hour cruise. Tickets are $57 per person and guests under 21 are welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. The boarding starts at 6:15 p.m. and the ship departs Weirs Beach at 7 p.m. and returns around 10 p.m. after the Meredith fireworks. Advance tickets are recommended as this cruise usually sells out.
